Govt to soon make IBDC operational: Ampareen
Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh on Saturday visited
the Sarangma Horti Hub, and various agricultural facilities in North Garo Hills District.
She was accompanied by Rupert Momin, MLA of 37-Kharkutta.
Lyngdoh said that the visit was to oversee and evaluate these facilities so that they will benefit farmers at the earliest.
The agricultural Sarangma Horti Hub of Black Pepper and Khasi Mandarin Nursery and the Gerbera poly house under RIDF are functioning well, receiving positive responses from beneficiaries at large.
She said the Integrated Bee Development Centre (IBDC) at Sambrak has state of the art facilities for providing training, processing, testing, and manufacturing of bee boxes for honey production adding that the department will make the centre fully operational in the next coming months.
The Minister also visited the Sambrak farm where very shortly a GVK project is also due to be operationalised, therefore providing adequate farming related training and other activities.
The Sambrak State Seeds Farm covers an area of 144 Ha.
