Minister in-charge Public Health Engineering (PHE) Marcuise N Marak on Monday informed that augmentation of the  Nongrah Water Supply Scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) has been sanctioned  at Rs 18.87 crore on November 28, last year.

Replying to a query raised by AITC legislator from Nongthymmai Charles Pyngrope, Marak said the mission is at the various stages of implementation.

The minister also informed that the Nongrah Water Supply Scheme was completed in December, last year.

He said the project was sanctioned n March 31, 2017 and targetted date of completion was in March, 2022. The amount sanctioned was Rs 5.92 crore.

The expected population to be benefitted upon completion of the project is 12,021.

Marak said that the scheme was sanctioned in the year 2017 before the launch of JJM and hence the provision for providing House Service Connections was not incorporated in the scheme.
