    JOWAI: Justice Mohammed Yaqoob Mir, Chief Justice High Court of Meghalaya laid the foundation stone for the construction of the permanent building for the District and Session Court Complex at Khliehtyshi, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai in the presence of Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew today.

    Speaking on the occasion Chief Justice Mohammed had requested all concern to expedite the construction work which is already in process for the smooth functioning of judicial process in the District. He also directed the Judicial officers and Bar Association to give their cent percent and ensure fair and speedy Justice to the litigants.

    District Session Judge E Kharumnuid in his welcomed address informed that the District and Session Judge Court which was established on July 27, 2013 is currently functioning in the DC office and the present Court complex  is still under construction at Khliehtyrshi measuring 11.162 acres.

    The plan and estimate for current construction of the permanent Court complex have been prepared by PWD department and was approved and sanctioned.

    The function was also attend by the Deputy Commissioners of East and West Jaintia Hills CP Gotmare, IAS and F.M Dopth, IAS, Superintendent of Police both West and East Lakador Syiem, MPS and Shri. Vivekananda Singh IPS, Secretary DLSA DS Marbaniang, officers and subordinate judiciary, Extra Assistant Commissioners Smt. DD Syngai, Smt. YR Mawlong, BJ Kharshandi, Khliehtyshi Headman, PWD officers and others.
