Flames of Democracy on the move in East Khasi Hills

The SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) cell of the office of the District Election Officer of East Khasi Hills, in collaboration with Meghalaya Model United Nations has launched the ‘Flame of Democracy’ from the North Shillong constituency.

The flame, mounted on a ‘democracy van’, will emit its light all over the district, touring all constituencies of East Khasi Hills.

The van started its travel on Tuesday in Shillong and will travel through to Mawsynram on Thursday, Mawphlang and Sohiong on Friday, Shella and Sohra on Saturday, Pynursla on February 20, Mylliem and Iew Smit on February 21, Nongkrem and Mawkynrew on February 22, Mawryngkneng on February 23, Nongthymmai and Umpling on February 24 and Nongmensong, Golflinks and Mawlai on February 25.
