    JOWAI: Baitlang Pohsngap today wrote his name in the pages of history as the first candidate to file his nomination in the election of Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).

    Pohsngap is making his maiden entry in politics this election from Jowai South Constituency on the ticket of the Indian National Congress.

    Pohsngap will battle out against veteran politician of Jaintia Hills and sitting MDC Moonlight Pariat.

    Another candidate who filed his nomination today is a seasoned politician and sitting MDC Hermon Phawa from Mukhla Wahiajer on Congress ticket. His main rival this election is NPP tall man of Nartiang Constituency Paya Dhar.

    The third candidate to file nomination on the third day is new comer Eveningstar Teron of Npp from Nongjngi Constituency. He will face a tough fight against policeman turned politician Suklang Shylla who is seeking second term on UDP Ticket.
