FASTOM threatens to agitate over pending demand

The Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) has issued an ultimatum to the government till April 30, 2024 to upgrade all the adhoc schools to deficit from the Lower Primary till the Higher Secondary School level.
In a statement issued here, FASTOM maintained that it will be prepared to hit the streets again if the government is not lackadaisical toward its demands.

FASTOM which is a federation of adhoc school teachers held the general meeting on October 7 New Nongstoin Football Play Ground which was chaired by vice president Sanborn Jungai attended by thousands of teachers ranging from the Lower Primary school to the Higher Secondary School.
On the same day, the new office bearers of FASTOM central body was elected for the year 2023-2026

The President is Diningroy Marwein, Vice President – Sanborn Jungai and Kinstar Momin, general secretary Sainbor John Lyngdoh, Joint Secretary-Deviana Syiem, Evangeline Niangti and Senendro R.Marak, Finance Secretary-R Sparland Khardewsaw, Organising Secretary – Rapborson Kharsynteng and Biarson Marak, Publicity Secretary – E.G War, Auditors-Evansius Marwein and David Lyngkhoi.
