Electricity bill of over Rs. 10 lakh only through online mode

“In order to streamline the revenue collection and reconciliation of the bill collection process, the MeECL Management has decided that henceforth, the payments of Electricity bills of Rs 10.00 lakhs (Rupees Ten lakhs) and above shall be accepted through RTGS/NEFT mode only.

However, the payment made through online modes such as net banking, credit cards and debit cards shall be considered at par with RTGS/NEFT for this purpose.

In order to avoid inconvenience to the consumers, the arrangements of offline and online RTGS/NEFT) mode made for the above category shall run concurrently till 31st of this month.
