EGH police warn to take action against attempt to create communal disharmony over a fire incident

East Garo Hills police on Tuesday warned to take stern legal action against those trying to take advantage of a fire incident that took place at Morrongga village with an intention to create law and order and communal disharmony.

A fire incident took place in the house of one Presila N. Marak of Morongga Nengkram today.

Immediately, a team from Fire and Emergency Service Station Rongjeng rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

“It was ascertained that there was no one in the house when the fire incident took place.

Further, the cause of the fire is found to be due to faulty wiring and no foul play is suspected,” district SP SA Rynjah said.

“Anyone known / found taking advantage of the same with a view to create law and order and communal disharmony will be dealt with firmly as per law,” he warned.
