    East Jaintia Hills, District Magistrate E Kharmalki has decided to allow more activities and relaxed the Containment Measures restriction as COVID-19 cases declined in the district from August 30.

    In his fresh order on August 24, Kharmalki said that the decision was taken after observing that the number of COVID-19 has significantly reduced / come down in last few weeks and in order to relief the citizens from the containment measures and the citizens to meet their daily requirement made the following arrangement from August 30 till further orders.

    According to the order, Opening of shops in the localities/ major Market areas of Khliehriat East & West, whole of Ladrymbai, Umpleng, Chiehruphi, Lumshnong, Sohkymphor, Sookilo, Saipung, Semasi, Jalaphet, Rymbai, Wapung, Sutnga, Bataw, Nongjri and Umkiang East Jaintia Hills District are permitted to open from August 30.

    All Shops may open from 9.00 A.M to 6.00 P.M from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday and Friday only and shall remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.

    Cyber cafes, book shops and stationeries are permitted to open five days a week from Monday to Friday.

    Opening of Commercial establishments/ shops malls and other non- essential economic activities is permitted.

    Teer counter and archery are permitted to open five days a week from Monday to Friday

    Restaurant, Tea shops, Sweet-shops and Bakeries are permitted with 50 % of the Seating Capacity subject to compliance to SOPs.

    Home delivery services and Ecommerce activities are permitted subject to regulation.

    International Border Trade shall be regulated.

    Resumption of Commercial transportation upto to 50 % and private transportation upto 50%.

    The shopkeepers and the public should strictly adhered to all COVID-19 norms.

    Opening of offices and schools

    Central and State Government offices may function at 50 % strength. Essential Department of the state Government shall function at strength as may be decided by the Administrative Head.

    Banks are permitted to open from Monday to Saturday with 50 % strength and shall closed by 4 P.M Excluding 2nd and 4th Saturdays.

    Post offices may function at 50 % strength from Monday to Saturday with 50% strength and shall closed by 4 P.M

    Offices of schools and colleges and private offices may function at 50 % strength subject to prior permission.

    Sports Activities

    The following sports activities are permitted subject to compliance with the SOPs issued on December 7, 2020 by the Sports & youth affairs department for resumption of recreational and competitive sports and prior permission and regulation by the office of the undersigned.

    Non-Contact sports viz; Archery, Shooting, Cycling, Athletics and Running

    Indirect Contact Sports viz; Golf, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis, Snooker. Weightlifting and Billiards.

    Minimal – contact sports viz; Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball and cricket for training purposes only by sports clubs and association.

    Sports competitions for non contact, Indirect and Minimal contact sports are permitted with only officials and no spectators

    Swimming in places with regulated entry such as resorts, club pools and public polls with staggered timing and prior bookings.

    Gymnasium / Yoga Institutes / Fitness Centers are permitted to re-open for vaccinated persons subject to prior permission and regulation

    Social and Political gatherings, Political, public and social gatherings are not permitted including conferences meetings and trainings.

    Entry of tourist from outside the state shall not be permitted and all tourist spots shall closed.

    Religious places / places of worship are permitted to re-open in the district with the Sop issued by the government. Solemnization of marriages in religious places/places of worship shall be as per the SOP.

    Funeral gathering to be restricted to 20 persons with prior intimation and there will be no procession to the Cemetery or Crematorium.

    Wedding reception is not permitted.

    Public parks having regulated entry are permitted to open to vaccinated persons with due intimation

    Construction Activities

    Construction activities may be permitted by the undersigned based on the local situation.

    Movement of skilled manpower for construction activities may be permitted based on the local situation.

    Exemptions:

    Health services including emergency services and vaccination Person

    Medicines and Pharmaceuticals

    Movement of goods.

    Persons travelling on Essential Government duty viz;

    Medical Teams and Official on COVID-19

    Police security and Armed forces

    Civil Defense and Home guards

    Fire & Emergency Services

    Electricity

    PHE

    Public distribution system

    PWD

    Information and Public Relation

    Telecommunication services

    Print and electric media

    Petrol Pumps

    LPG distributors

    Farming activities in rural areas (Including betel nut and betel leaf)

    MGNREGA activities in rural areas

    Essential veterinary services including feed and fodder movement for livestock for farmers.
