Dry day declared in Jaintia Hills region

The Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat, has declared August 15, 2024, as a “Dry Day” across the entire East Jaintia Hills District on account of Independence Day.

All wholesalers, IMFL retailers, bars, canteens, and out-stills in the district will remain closed.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that any violation of this order will be viewed seriously.

Similarly, the District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills has declared August 15, 2024, as a Dry Day throughout the West Jaintia Hills District on account of Independence Day celebrations.

All IMFL licensed premises, including wholesale and retail outlets, home delivery services, bars, canteens, country spirit shops, and out-stills, will also remain closed.
