DC revokes permission for holding meetings, gatherings

East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday revoked the permission already granted for any meetings, gatherings, trainings, conferences, sports, events between May 1 to May 10 in the whole of East Khasi Hills District.

The decision was in pursuance to order issued by the state government for imposing containment measures to safeguard the state from an uncontrollable surge of COVID-19 cases.

However, weddings for which permission has been granted are permitted with a revised ceiling of thirty persons only in the place of worship or hall, the DC said.
