DC EJH issues show cause notice over food quality concerns at Independence Day event
The District Administration of East Jaintia Hills on Friday has issued a Show Cause Notice to the food supplier following complaints about the quality of food served to students during the Independence Day celebrations. The action comes after concerns were raised by students regarding their lunch.
In an official statement, the Deputy Commissioner said: “It has come to the notice of District Administration that there was a complaint regarding the quality of food served during lunch to the students participating in the occasion of Independence Day Celebration. However, some of the students complained regarding the quality of food, hence, the Refreshment Cell promptly replaced the food packets and fresh food packets were arranged and distributed.
In view of the seriousness of the matter, direction has been given to the Additional Deputy Commissioner to conduct an enquiry and a Show Cause Notice has been served to the supplier engaged. The lunch packet was served to students with good intent; however, the inconvenience caused to the students is deeply regretted, and strict action will be taken based on the enquiry report.”
