Covid jabs must for availing special leave

Meghalaya Chief Secretary MS Rao, IAS on Wednesday directed all employees working in the Meghalaya Secretariat and other government offices to get their COVID-19 jabs.

The order read “In the interest of public health and to ensure the health and safety of all the employees working in the Meghalaya Secretariat and other offices like the Directorates/Offices of the Chief Engineers/State Government Corporations/ State Government Societies, it is hereby advised that all those employees who are 45 years of age and above should get themselves vaccinated, so as to effectively contain the spread of Covid-19.”

Further, the order directed that all those who have got themselves vaccinated will be eligible for special leave against Covid infection, which will however not be available to those who have not been vaccinated.
