    67-yr-old COVID-19 died at NEIGRIHMS: A 67-year-old woman, who was tested positive for COVID-19, died at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) on Thursday night. 

    Confirming this, Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the patient with comordity was admitted at the NEIGRIHMS yesterday. She was a resident of Barapathar, Shillong. 

    “She was tested positive for coronavirus today and passed away around 10 pm,” he said. 

    Asked, Dr War said that the health department came to know about this case only on being informed by the NEIGRIHMS authority.

    The incident also came after two patients – a GSI officer and a BSF jawan – succumbed to the dreaded disease at NEIGRIHMS. 

    Meanwhile, the death toll due to COVID-19 in the state has increased to 5.
