Congress caution MDA govt on missions
SHILLONG: The opposition Congress has cautioned the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government on the need to ensure that various missions remain alive.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Congress spokesman and Mawsynram legislator Himalaya M Shangpliang said every government has its own programmes and cited during the Congress government led by Dr Mukul Sangma there have been lots of missions.
Similarly, he said the present Conrad K Sangma-led state government too wants to implement certain dreams and visions.
“There is nothing wrong in coming up with missions but my only caution to the government is to see that these missions be it previous or present remain alive,” Shangpliang said adding “We welcome missions as these are interventions for the people if it really percolates down to the last line.”
The state government has recently launched the Mushroom mission, Muga mission, Milk mission and others.
Asserting that there should be connectivity between the beneficiaries and the missions, Shangpliang however said somebody has to be accountable and has to take responsibility of all these missions.
