Centre releases Rs 85 Cr for clearing scholarship to 27,327 students in Meghalaya: CM

The Centre has released the last instalment of scholarship amounting to Rs 85.0779 crore under the scheme ‘Umbrella Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship” for scheduled tribe (ST)students for the academic session 2023-2024.
Informing this on Friday, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, “I am happy to share that today, the Central Government has released the last instalment of scholarship amounting to ₹ 85.0779 Crore under the scheme ‘Umbrella Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students for the Academic Session 2023-2024’.”
According to him, the final instalment released today will be paid to over 27,327 students.
Earlier, the first instalment of Rs 42.32 crore was released on June 24, 2024 and paid to 17,364 students and second instalment of Rs 66.67 crore released on November 20, 2024 was paid to 32,064 students.
The CM said that the funds will reflect in students’ accounts within the next 1-2 days.
“The State Government is committed to improving and accelerating the scholarship process each year to ensure even quicker support for our talented students!” he wrote on X.
