Cabinet approves VIP list for R-Day

SHILLONG: The state Cabinet today approved the list of VIPs who will be hoisting the national flag and take the salute during the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in the state.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting held here on Monday, deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong informed that the Governor RN Ravi will hoist the national flag and take the salute at Shillong.

The deputy chief minister and home minister James K Sangma will take the salute at Tura and Sohra respectively.

The other ministers who will take salute in different district headquarters include Sniawbhalang Dhar at Nongstoin, Comingone Ymbon – Nongpoh, Kyrmen Shylla – Williamnagar, Brolding Nongsiej – Baghmara, Lahkmen Rymbui – Resubelpara, Banteidor Lyngdoh – Mawkyrwat, Hamlet Dohling – Ampati, Samlin Malngiang – Khliehriat and AL Hek – Mairang.

In the sub division level, chairman of the state planning board Lambor Malngiang will take the salute at Chokpot, Rakkam Sangma – Amlarem, Balajied Synrem – Dadenggre, Marcuise N Marak – Pynursla, Nujorki Sungoh – Raksamgre, Wailadmiki Shylla – Mawshynrut, TD Shira – Ranikor, Thomas Sangma – Patharkmah and Sanbor Shullai – Hima Shangpung.
