Bull fight/animal fight banned under Section 163 BNSS in East Khasi Hills District

The District Magistrate East Khasi Hills District has banned bull fight/animals fight under the provision of Section 163 BNSS in East Khasi Hills District and any violation thereof shall be strictly dealt with as per legal provisions.

According to an order issued on Thursday, the District Magistrate said that there are reports of rampant holding of Bulls’ Fight/Animals’ Fight especially while holding of Fetes/Other Festivals in some areas of the district.

The order said that bull fight/animal fight if allow will violate Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and Supreme Court of India ruling against Bull Fighting in 2014 Judgement.
