BSF Meghalaya arrests Khanduli residents with Rs 70 lakh contraband
The BSF Meghalaya, in a significant operation on 22nd August 2024, successfully thwarted a smuggling attempt at the International Border in East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya.
Alert troops apprehended two Indian nationals from Khanduli, West Jaintia Hills, who were found carrying contraband items worth Rs. 70,11,960 in a Mahindra pickup vehicle in the Pongtung area. The consignment was reportedly intended for smuggling into Bangladesh.
The apprehended individuals, along with the seized items, have been handed over to the Customs Office in Pynursla, East Khasi Hills, for further legal action.
