Brolding gets water resources, home guards

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday allotted the water resources and home guards & civil defence to two-time United Democratic Party legislator from Mawthadraishan, Brolding Nongsiej, who was recently inducted as new cabinet minister.   

Nongsiej was sworn in as minister on September 18, following the resignation of UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh as minister to get elected as the Assembly Speaker.

The tourism and excise departments held earlier by Metbah were also allotted to Kyrmen Shylla, who is presently looking after social welfare department, and Lakhmen Rymbui, the education minister respectively, sources said here.
