The BJP Yuva Morcha has alleged that few office bearers of the party are helping the Congress to get back to power in 2023.

This came as a strong reaction against a statement made by BJP state vice president Dipayan Chakraborty that the BJP will decide who will be part of the delegation to hold dialogue to iron out issues with the chief minister.

Condemning his statement, BJP Yuva Morcha vice president, Wallambok Khongwir in a statement on Monday said, “By making such a statement, Chakraborty has divided the party and has also violated the very constitution of the party. In that case all the elected governments will have to listen to the political party president to run the government.”

He reminded that the duty of the party president and other office bearers is to look into the welfare and growth of the party and target good results in the upcoming 2023 election while the elected representatives are to look into the welfare of the state concerning government affairs.

“Such continuous statements by few office bearers when we are a part of the government is only declining the party image and the few of them in the party with vested interest are helping the congress to come in power in 2023,” he said.

He further alleged that few of the party office bearers have insulted the national vice president and Meghalaya state incharge Dr Chuba M Ao in spite of him requesting the party to refrain from giving press statements against the government.

Meanwhile, the BJP Yuva Morcha also threatened to launch a state wide protest for demanding change of leadership in the state BJP.

“If the matter is not resolved then we shall launch statewide party karyakartas protest demanding change of leadership,” Khongwir said while asking all those disgruntled party leaders who have left should be reinstated immediately.
