BJP to pursue with Centre for holding talks with HNLC

BJP leader and cabinet minister AL Hek on Wednesday said that the party would continue to pursue with the Centre for initiating peace talks with the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC).

Speaking to reporters, Hek said that the party could not take up the matter with the central government in view of the elections being held in different parts of the country.

“Therefore, once the election is over we will remind the central government on the proposal to hold peace talks with the HNLC,” he said.
