BJP candidate and sitting Tura MDC Bernard N Marak on Tuesday said the party will fight the Gambegre bye election for good governance, to empower the rural folks through grassroot democracy and to end corruption which has made life miserable for the people there.

“The people of Gambegre will have to choose between corruption and good governance. Of being backward and being developed, and to support being social victims or to rise against all odds and be self-sufficient,” Marak said in a statement.

He said that the poor and honest people of Gambegre Constituency were victims of corrupt governance which stopped government facilities to the people and diverted development to other places.

Stating that the Gambegre bye election is going to be a very interesting fight, Marak said that all those who have been deprived by the leaders of the ruling government will undoubtedly vote for BJP.

“Voters of Gambegre will decide the fate their future leader on 13th November and I believe the voters would choose development over corruption,” he said while adding “Gambegre bye election would be a fight against the present CM’s wife, former CM’s sister in law, present MP’s candidate and us who will start from the scratch and campaign for positive changes.”

Further, Marak said that Gambegre is a tribal constituency and it’s going to be an uphill task but the groundwork we did will give interesting figures against the political giants who have dominated this constituency in the past.

“Our vision for Gambegre is to transform this constituency into a pro- development constituency rather than an under developed constituency,” he stated.

He further alleged that the present and the former government has deprived the people of Gambegre of basic needs like water, houses, employment, opportunities, ration cards etc and presently the high electricity bills which are a nightmare to the poor villagers are haunting them day and night. “The irregularities in NREGA, JJM, PMGSY, PMAY, IHHL, NRLM, old age, widow and disabled pensions are other matters which will be dealt with in Gambegre,” he added.
