Bamon rejoins Congress party
SHILLONG: Former minister ECB Bamon has decided to return back to the Congress.
Bamon, who quit the National People’s Party (NPP) in 2017, on Thursday rejoined his old party at a meeting held in the Congress Bhavan, Shillong.
He was formally welcomed by the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Dr Celestine Lyngdoh in the presence of working president, James S Lyngdoh, MLA Shitlang Pale besides functionaries of the party.
In his speech, Lyngdoh hoped that with the rejoining of Bamon, the party will be strengthen in the state in general and Jaintia Hills region in particular.
Bamon was also the former chief executive member of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
