Awareness Programme on tackling COVID-19 Pandemic held in Bataw village
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District in collaboration with the Block Development Officer, Khliehriat C&Rd Block and the Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, East Jaintia Hills District organised awareness programme on COVID-19 pandemic situation and vaccination coverage on August 5 at Bataw Village, East Jaintia Hills District.
The objective of the programme was to enhance awareness to members of the SHG, CCMT and leaders of the village on the COVID-19 situation and mobilizing COVID Vaccination.
E Kharmalki, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District while addressing the gathering, emphasized on the importance of COVID vaccination and urged the gathering to come forward and get vaccinated to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.
Dr. T. Shylla, Block Development Officer , Khliehriat C &Rd Block and Health Officials of the District including Dr.(Mrs) N.P Suchiang, DIO, I/C, East Jaintia Hills District and Dr. (Mr) W. Bamon, District Surveillance Officer I/C COVID-19, East Jaintia Hills District briefed on the need to get vaccinated and how it can help prevent the spread of COVID19.
It may also be mentioned that after the programme a vaccination drive was conducted where in 80 individuals were vaccinated.
