Another two drugs smugglers from Tripura arrested in Meghalaya

Two persons hailing from Tripura were arrested for smuggling Ganja worth 68 kg in their Hyundai Santro vehicle bearing registration number TR-01-AB-0422 at Damcherra, Kuliang, NH-6, East Jaintia Hills District on Monday.

Police said at around 5:30 pm on Monday, the staff of Umkiang PP during naka checking detected suspected contraband (Marijuana) wrapped in brown tape concealed inside the Santro Vehicle was recovered.

All formalities under NDPS Act have been observed in the presence of independent witnesses.

Police said a case vide Lumshnong PS Case No. 14(3)2023 u/s 20(b)(ii) (c)/29 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation is on to trace the forward and backward linkages.

The arrested persons are Binoy Debbarma (38 yrs) of 115, Bhakta Kabara Para Town/Village: Dhariathal PS: Bishramganj, Sub Divn- Bishalgarh, District: West Tripura, Tripura and Debbarma (30 yrs) from 128, Dayaram Para, Gram-Dhariyathal PO: Ramnagar, Town/Village: Dhariathal District: West Tripura, Tripura
