    The All Meghalaya Minorities Students Union New Bhaitbari, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya has flayed the Meghalaya Police Department for the non selection of a single Non-Tribal candidate from minorities community for personal interview for the various posts in the ongoing police recruitment drive.

    In a letter to the Inspector General of Police (R/PR) Cum-Chairman Central Recruitment Board (CRB) Meghalaya, Shillong, All Meghalaya Minorities Students Union referred to the list candidates for personal interview selected on the basis of the Physical Efficiency Test and Written Examination conducted by the Central Recruitment Board of Meghalaya Police Department.

    The letter pointed that the list of candidates for the post of UBSI, UBC, ABC/BNC, MPRO, Fireman, Driver Fireman Driver Constable & Follower was declared in a recent notification vide No. PTS/CRB/2019-21/1586 dated: Shillong, the 27th March, 2023.

    The All Meghalaya Minorities Students Union said that the list of candidates Eligible for personal interview is prepared taking into consideration the reservation Policy of the Government of Meghalaya vide the Home (Police) Department O.M. No. HPL.35/2011/164 dated 7th September, 2012 and vide the P&AR (B) Department OM No. PER(AR)/25/2022/Pt/3 dated 10th May, 2022.

    They alleged there is neither General Quota or open category quota have been followed nor Roster System has been followed as per Hon’ble High Court order

    The All Meghalaya Minorities Students Union demand the immediate rectification of the list and select the candidates from minorities community who are genuine resident of Meghalaya under general / Open Category at the earliest to provide employment opportunity to be Non-Tribal unemployed youth of Meghalaya as per Roster System and job reservation Policy of the state government i.e. 20% General, 40% Khasi & Jaintia, 40% Garo Communities.
