    With a view to have firsthand information about the preparedness of the district administration and the health department with regard to COVID-19 in Ri Bhoi, Shri A.L. Hek, Health and Family Welfare Minister today visited the Bhoirymbong CHC, Civil Hospital, Nongpoh, Entry & Exit point, Byrnihat and the Quarantine Centre, CTI, Byrnihat.

    He was accompanied by Shri G.B. Lyngdoh, Local MLA, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. A. Warr, Smti. R.M. Kurbah, Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi district, Dr. A. Mawrie, DMHO, Shri R. Kharbihkhiew, BDO, Bhoirymbong at Bhoirymbong CHC while Shri M.B. Syiem, MLA, Shri B. Rani, MDC of Nongpoh accompanied the Minister at Nongpoh Civil Hospital and was joined by the Jirang MLA  of, Shri S. Sohtun and Jirang MDC, Shri V. Rani at Byrnihat Entry & Exit point.

    Shri Hek during the review meeting held at Bhoirymbong and Civil Hospital, Nongpoh was briefed about the preparedness and the preventive measures that has been put in place in the District such as Quarantine Centre at CTI, Byrnihat and St. Paul’s Hr. Secondary School, Nongpoh, Isolation Wards at Bhoirymbong and Civil Hospital, Nongpoh, Corona Care Centres at SIRD, Umiam, St. Paul’s Secondary School, Nongpoh, with an accommodation of 35 and 70 each, PPEs, Masks, Gloves, Sanitizers etc to fight against Corona Virus in the district.

    He urged upon the doctors, nurses and the health workers, being the front liners to continue with their dedicated and selfless effort and to be strong and confident in dealing with any situation.
