In a pathetic state of affairs in the health sector of Meghalaya, it took 51 long years for a full fledged district to have a basic health equipment in its government hospital.

Ironically that district contributed large revenue to state exchequer in the form of royalty from coals yet still it continues to be neglected by the people at the helms of affairs.

On the 51st year of Meghalaya Day, that district known as East Jaintia Hills District got its first Ultra Sound Machine.

The machine has been arranged by District Administration for Khliehriāt Civil Hospital through CSR from NETC.

The presence of USG machine will help in providing better medical services and the residents of the district won’t have to go to different districts for simple tests.

The DC East Jaintia Hills inaugurated the machine in the presence of NR Singh, NETC representative, A Singh, IAS (SDO Sadar), J Shylla (ADC Health), and Dr D Shylla (DMHO).
