The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, East Jaintia Hills District, has issued a public advisory regarding the commencement of renovation works on National Highway 6 (NH-6) in Khliehriat.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that, as per information received from the Authorities of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI-6), renovation works will take place daily from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM at Khliehriat East, Khliehriat West, Market Area section, and other affected locations.

During this period, one-way traffic will be enforced throughout the day for all commuters, including Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) and Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs).

To ease congestion, LMVs may take alternate routes through all internal roads connected to NH-6 from Khliehriat East and Khliehriat West during morning and daytime hours until the renovation works are completed.

The advisory further states that public cooperation is essential, and the inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
