Adonijah Lyngdoh wins Season 1 of Hills on a Plate – Meghalaya
In a thrilling finale that had viewers on the edge of their seats, Adonijah Lyngdoh emerged victorious in the first season of “Hills on a Plate – Meghalaya” a groundbreaking TV series that combines the excitement of a chef competition with an immersive journey through the culinary and cultural wonders of Meghalaya.
Adonijah’s triumph in the culinary showdown not only solidifies his position as a rising star in the culinary world but also highlights his resilience and determination in overcoming life’s challenges.

The top 5 contestants were also awarded a grant of INR 10,00,000 each by Meghalaya Tourism to give them a boost in their culinary enterprises and ventures they have been planning. The cheques were handed over to the contestants earlier this year by Dr. D. Vijay Kumar, Commissioner and Secretary, Meghalaya Tourism at a Public Screening of “Hills on a Plate Episode 1” which took place at Lariti Auditorium in March.
Hosted by Gordon Thabah and Abigail Kaizun, “Hills on a Plate – Meghalaya” has brought together a diverse group of talented contestants, including Uttam Thangkhiew, Artet Kharsati, Ivan Suting, Nambie Marak, Tanisha Phanbuh, and Daeihunki Suchiang, who have showcased their skills and creativity throughout the competition.
Renowned chef Sarah Todd of MasterChef Australia, who brought her expertise and passion for Indian cuisine to the judging panel, raised the bar for the contestants and added a new dimension to the competition.
As the first-of-its-kind culinary extravaganza from the North Eastern part of India, “Hills on a Plate – Meghalaya” has not only celebrated the culinary heritage of the region but also highlighted the untapped talent and flavors of Meghalaya to a national audience.
