Accidental insurance scheme of Rs 4 lakhs for drivers in Meghalaya
The Commissioner of Transport IW Ingty IAS in a press release issued on November 16 informed the general public that the Government of Meghalaya in the Department of Transport has decided to implement a Scheme called “Meghalava Personal Accident Insurance Scheme”.
The scheme will cover all profession drivers with valid Professional Driving License issued from Meghalaya.
A qualified professional driver requires to open a Zero balance saving account in the nearest State Bank of India Branch in case he does not have a bank account). A qualified driver only needs to fill the requisite form of State Bank with a valid ID Card, a driving license and proof of residence.
The Policy will ensure every member a sum of Rs. 4.00 Lakhs in the event of accidental death only in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the policy.
