Troops of the Border Security Force (NSF) under Guwahati Frontier apprehended four Indian smugglers along the India-Bangladesh international border on Saturday night.

Based on intelligence, alert bordermen of  49th Battalion conducted a special operation in the riverine area of the Brahmaputra along the India-Bangladesh international border in South Salamara-Manikachar district and apprehended four Indian smugglers attempting trafficking into Bangladesh via the Brahmaputra route, along with three cattle and other prohibited items.

In separate operations, vigilant BSF troops thwarted attempts of smuggling from India to Bangladesh on the international border, seizing approximately 7600 kilograms of sugar worth Rs 7 lakh, an engine-operated boat, and other prohibited items and rescued 39 cattle from smugglers.
