  • 300 trouble mongers round up by West Garo Hills in run up to Election

    In the run up to the General Election to Meghalaya Legislative Assembly 2023, 300 persons who are trouble mongers, history sheeters and bad characters have already been bound over by  West Garo Hills District Police under Section 107 CrPC.

    Police said 7 Company of CAPF and 2 Platoons of SAPF are deployed in West Garo Hills District for Pre-Poll Election Duty like Confidence Building Measures, Area Domination, Naka Checking etc.

    Police said intensive Naka checking is going on all across the District at more than 20 locations.

    Meanwhile on Wednesday, a joint team of Tura PS, Chandmari BH and Rongram OP while conducting Naka checking at Chasingre detected one truck B/R No. HR-55-AD-5381and seized *10140 Ltrs IMFL (1300 Cartons) worth more than 15 Lakh. 1 Person was arrested.

    Further, during naka checking, 1067 L of IMFL worth more than Rs. 2 Lakh was seized by Rongram PS and 47 Ltr of IMFL worth approx. Rs 20000/- was seized by Jengjal PS today. 1 person arrested.

    Strict vigil is being kept on international and inter-state border along West Garo Hills District.
