3 drug peddlers arrested in Ri Bhoi

Three drug peddlers were arrested in Nongrpoh on Friday night.

Based on a credible information that one drugs supplier namely Wellborn Khongjoh alias Bull is on his way from Nongpoh to Shillong along with 2 (two) more drug peddlers with suspected contrabands and planning to sell the same to an unknown drug peddlers/consumer, a drug law enforcement operation was conducted by a team of Ri-Bhoi DEF at Umsning last night, police said.

During the operation, at around 9.45 pm, one Maruti Baleno car (ML-05AB-9902) proceeding from Nongpoh towards Shillong side was intercepted at NH-06 Guwahati-Shillong lane at Nongthymmai junction. On checking the car and the body of three occupants namely Wellborn Khongjoh, Fedrick Kharkrang, and Pascal Kharkrang, approximately 10.9 grams suspected Heroin was recovered, they said.

A case has been registered and investigation is on.
