  • 28670 candidates to compete for 127 LDA posts in Meghalaya

    A massive total of 28670 candidates were declared eligible to compete for the 127 vacant posts of Lower Division Assistant (LDA) in the various Heads of Department offices where the recruitment process will be conducted by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC).

    As per the Admit Card released by the MPSC recently, the MPSC will conduct the competitive examination for the said posts on 22nd March, this year in 37 examination centres under Shillong Sector and eight examination centres in Tura Sector.

    From 28670 candidates, 21670 candidates will be appearing for their examination in 37 examination halls under Shillong Sector while 7000 candidates will write their examination in eight examination halls under Tura Sector.

    The post of LDA (Head of Departments) was advertised by MPSC vide Advt No. 02/2024 Dated 20/11/2024 where the total numbers of vacant is 127 while the scale of pay comes under level 6. Out of 127 vacant posts, 36 posts are freshly advertised comprising of six posts for unreserved category, 16 posts for Khasi Jaintia community, 12 for Garo community and 2 for other scheduled tribes/scheduled castes.

    Further, 91 posts were advertised by MPSC vide no MPSC/Advt-38/1/2019-2020-31 Dated 22/07/2019 but the recruitment process was not completed. Out of 91 posts, 16 posts are for unreserved category, 36 each for Khasi Jaintia community and Garo community and three for other scheduled tribes/scheduled castes.
