14189 candidates competing for 122 vacant posts of JDA to be conducted by Meghalaya Public Service Commission
A grand total of 14189 candidates will compete for 122 vacant posts of the Junior Divisional Accountant under the administrative control of the Meghalaya Directorate of Accounts & Treasuries, the recruitment of which will be conducted by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC)
According to programme of Examination scheduled issued by the MPSC on March 12, this year, the preliminary examination for the post of Junior Divisional Accountant will be held on April 12th, this year in 16 examinations centres located in Shillong and Tura.

Out of the 14189 candidates, 9344 candidates will write their preliminary examination at the eleven examination centres in Shillong the capital city of Meghalaya while 4845 candidates will compete at the five-examination centres in Tura Town, the District Headquarters of West Garo Hills District.
The break up of candidates centre-wise in Shillong City is 350 candidates in MPSC office, Shillong while massive number of 2600 candidates in St Anthony’s College, Shillong, 1000 candidates each in Raid Laban College, Shillong and Sankardev College, 600 candidates each in St Dominic’s Savio’s Higher Secondary School, Mawkhar, Shillong and Mawlai Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Mawlai Iewryngkhep, Shillong and 750 candidates in Govt’s Boys Higher Secondary School, Shillong, 500 candidates each in Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Shillong and Women College, Shillong and 444 candidates in Nabon Women’s Synod College, Shillong.
While, the break up of candidates centres-wise in Tura Town is 1545 candidates in Tura Govt College, Tura, 1050 in Govt Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Tura, 600 candidates in Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Tura, 1100 in Don Bosco College Tura and 550 in Pechon Memorial Higher Secondary School, Tura,
The post of Junior Divisional Accountant was advertised by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission on September 19, 2024 vide notification no. MPSC/Advt-54/1/2024-2025-1. The scale of pay for the said post is Level 11.
The total vacant posts of 122 numbers comprised of two categories viz. 53 posts which is freshly advertised while another 69 posts which was advertised by MPSC vide no MPSC/ADVT-54/1/2020-21/70 Dated 14/12/2020 but the recruitment was not completed.
Out of the 53 vacant posts, 8 post are for unreserved category, 22 posts including one for Sports persons for Khasi Jaintia community, 21 posts including one for Sports persons for Garo community and 2 posts for other scheduled tribes/scheduled castes. Further, out of 69 vacant posts, 10 posts are for unreserved category, 27 for Khasi Jaintia community, 28 for Garo community, four for other scheduled tribes/scheduled castes.
