262 litres of illicit liquor seized in East Khasi Hills raids

The Deputy Commissioner’s Office (Excise) in East Khasi Hills District intensified its efforts against the illicit sale of liquor, including IMFL, beer and wine.

During the month December 2023, raids were conducted in restaurants and stalls within the town and its outskirts. As a result, the Excise staff detected 12 cases, seized a total of 262.300 liters of illicit liquor and 6.240 liters of IMFL.

In this connection, 8 persons have been arrested under the Excise Act.
