    JOWAI: A total of 112 candidates filed their nomination papers from the 29 constituencies of the Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) and all of them after scrutiny were found fit and suitable to contest the election scheduled on February 27th this year.

    The scrutiny was held after 3pm this afternoon, which was the last hour for filing nomination and the wannabe MDCs were given ample time of six days for expressing their desire to contest the election in black and white. The last date of withdrawal of nomination papers is tomorrow.

    A total of 65 nomination papers for the 17 constituencies were received in DC’s office, Jowai, West Jaiñtia Hills District out of which two nominations from Barato-Mukroh were filed this morning and they are Susil Dkhar of PDF and Currentis Rabon of HSPDP.

    While, in the office of the Sub Divisional Office (Civil) Amlarem, West Jaiñtia Hills District altogether seven nomination papers were filed for the three constituencies.

    Meanwhile, in the DC’s office, Khliehriat East Jaiñtia Hills District a total of 40 nomination papers were filed by candidates from nine constituencies till the last day of filing nomination.

    Today, six candidates filed their papers and they are namely Tnebha Phawa (Independent) and Dabisharbha. H. Rymbai (Independent) both from Musniang-Rangad, Nangpoi Paslein (Independent), Krishna Dkhar (Independent) and Begin L S Paslein (NPP) from Sumer and Nimos Pala (NPP) from Sutnga.
