Zaloni Ladies Club joins hands with Tengakhat Hospital to boost maternal nutrition

In a targeted move to improve maternal health and nutrition, Zaloni Ladies Club (ZLC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tengakhat MG Model Hospital on Monday. The collaboration aims to provide monthly nutritional support to pregnant women under the Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA).
As part of the agreement, ZLC will supply nutritious food packets to expectant mothers visiting the hospital for antenatal check-ups on the 19th of each month. The initiative is designed to support regular health monitoring while ensuring access to essential nutrition for pregnant women in the region.
The MoU was formally signed by ZLC president Geety Rekha Phukan and Sanghamitra Borah, Deputy Superintendent of Tengakhat MG Model Hospital. Both parties emphasised the importance of community-driven support in strengthening maternal care services.
Founded in 1962, Zaloni Ladies Club has long focused on education, healthcare, and nutrition for underprivileged communities. This latest partnership reinforces its mission to uplift women and promote well-being through direct, grassroots engagement.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to improving lives through compassion, health, and empowerment,” said Phukan during the signing ceremony.
