The largest youth organization Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), in collaboration with Zoiram Biate Association, has organised a two-day seminar at Mualsei Village, East Jaintia Hills District, on 24th Feb 2021.

The intention of the program is to improve the utilization of rainwater in order to create appropriate rainwater harvesting structures suitable for the climate condition before the monsoon and to raise maximum awareness among the youth.

The theme of the program is ‘Catch the rain where it falls when it falls‘ attended by two schools- Oasis English School and Mualsei & Biate Christian Secondary School. There were also several youth volunteers.

The number of attendees was 105 students, 7 teachers from both schools and 12 youth volunteers summing a total of 121 people. The seminar program also includes a quiz competition and wall writing. The children in relation to the theme had written ‘catch the rain’ on various water storage tanks of the village.
