Young author from Meghalaya launches debut book “Buried but Breathing”

Palica Lyngdoh, a young and passionate voice from Ladmukhla, Meghalaya, has officially stepped into the literary world with the release of her debut book “Buried but Breathing” — a raw, confessional collection of contemporary poetry and personal reflections centered on themes of mental health, healing, identity, and emotional resilience.
Born on July 14, 2005, Palica is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in English and writes primarily in English. Her work draws from lived experiences and inner struggles, weaving together emotion and inspiration that resonate deeply with young readers navigating similar battles.
“I write to breathe through the weight I carry,” says Palica, who views her writing as both a survival mechanism and a bridge to connect with others. “My words are stitched from real emotions: the late-night fears, the quiet resilience, the breaking, and the becoming.”
“Buried but Breathing” explores topics such as mental health, silent suffering, and the quiet journey toward healing — all penned in a style that is both lyrical and intimate. Her unique approach blends poetic expression with deeply personal narratives, making her work a mirror for many readers who often feel unseen or unheard.

With a vision to create a safe space through words — one where pain is acknowledged and healing feels possible — Palica hopes her debut collection will serve as a source of strength and solace. “In a world that often asks us to hide our feelings, my vision is to make emotion a kind of power — not weakness,” she explains.
The book is available for purchase online on platforms including Flipkart, Notion Press, and Amazon, with an eBook version also available for digital readers.
Through “Buried but Breathing”, Palica Lyngdoh is not only introducing herself as a promising young writer, but also giving voice to a generation quietly battling internal storms — and reminding them that they are never alone.
