    JOWAI: The World Day Against Child Labour was observed on the theme, “Children shouldn’t work in fields, but on Dreams” organized by the District Legal Service Authority, Jowai in collaboration with the office of the Labour Department, Jowai at Loompyrdi, Mihmyntdu today.

    Speaking on the importance of the day Smt. B Toi, Labour Inspector educated the students on child labour laws, rules and regulation and their basis rights to education. However, she said activities helping parents in doing household chores, assisting in a family business after school hours or during holidays is not classified as child labour.

    Secretary District Legal Service Authority D S Marbaniang said the Child Labour day is being observed to create awareness and to help stop child labour.

    The Programme was chaired by  Jrum Biam, Rangbah Dong of Loompyrdi Mihmyntdu, Jowai.
