Workshop on Hindi e-tools held at Zoological Survey of India, Shillong

The Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Shillong Centre, under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, organised a workshop on Hindi e-tools on June 30.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Uttam Saikia, Officer-in-Charge, ZSI Shillong, who also delivered the welcome address. The workshop witnessed the presence of Dr Demos Kheniriyam, Dr Sapari Silo, and Hindi Officer Mr Amit Rana.
Dr Alok Singh, Assistant Professor from the Hindi Department of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, was the guest speaker. In his address, Dr Singh highlighted the growing influence of Hindi both in India and internationally, driven by technology, the market, and cinema. He emphasised that Hindi serves not just as a language but as a powerful medium to connect people and convey emotions and ideas.
Dr Singh also demonstrated various Hindi e-tools, including Anuvaadini and Bhashini, aimed at making the language more accessible in the digital age.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Uttam Saikia underlined the importance of learning Hindi to strengthen national unity, recalling that while India has always embraced linguistic diversity, Hindi was adopted as the official language by the Constituent Assembly 75 years ago. He noted the evolving role of Hindi over the decades.
The workshop was conducted by Hindi Assistant Officer Shri Pravesh Kumar.
