    The Library Advisory Committee of the Kiang Nangbah Government College on Monday organised a One Day Workshop on the topic titled “Beyond Fake News: A One Day Workshop on Media Literacy and Fact Checking”.

    The workshop was attended by 71 participants in the college campus.

    Speaking as Resource Person, Dr. Karen L. Donoghue, Assistant Professor Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, North Eastern Hill University touched on Media Literacy and the impact of new media and fake news on the academic set up through a videoconference.

    Chanlang Ki Bareh, Assistant Librarian, Nagaland University in his session highlighted on the fact checking tools and provided exercises on how to fact check using various online tools.

    The objectives for conducting the workshop are to create awareness on the various digital media and their impact on the teaching-learning process and to train the teaching faculty of the college on the various fact checking tools available online.
