    A woman working at a petrol pump has tested positive for COVID-19 in Jowai.

    The Woman was tested positive during random testing conducted by the health department. She had a fever and was admitted to corona care for treatment, the sources said.

    Following this, the District Magistrate on the recommendation made by District Medical & Health Officer, West Jaintia Hills District has declared Dowel Petrol Pump, Ladthalaboh and the resident of a woman at Kiang Nangbah Road, Iawmusiang Jowai (house owner Harbiancy Lamar) as COVID-19 containment area.

    The order restricted unregulated movement and exit movement in the affected areas from 5.00 AM of 6th September 2020 to 5.00 AM of 9th September 2020 which require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of the health of the general public against any possible spread of COVID-19.
