    In an unforunate incident, one lady pedestrain was killed following a road accident involving two trucks and one light motor vehicle at around 8.00 am on Thursday morning at ICAR, Umiam.

    Police said that one loaded truck WB 41 G 6998 proceeding towards Silchar dashed the right side of another loaded 1109 model type truck of (NL 01 AE 3329) which was coming from the opposite direction.

    Police informed that In the process the small vehicle (ML05Y 0439) which followed the truck (1109) also dashed rear end of the truck (1109). As a result the driver of the truck no WB 41 G 6998 died on the spot sometimes after the accident and the handyman of the same truck sustained minor injury.

    Tragically, the truck No.WB 41 G 6998 dashed a lady pedestrian, 66yrs age of ICAR and received injuries on her person. She was rushed to Civil hospital, Shillong by 108 Ambulance service.

    However, after few hours, lady succumbed to her injuries at Civil Hospital shillong.

    The driver of the truck no NL 01 AE 3329 not found at the place of accident. The damaged vehicles were removed by the recovery vans and cleared the road. The rest of the legal formalities being observed.
