Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced the allocation of INR 101 crore for the transport sector in 2022-23 but with no special emphasis or mention on how the Government intends to improve the ailing Meghalaya Transport Corporation

Sangma said the Umroi airport is fully operational and is handling over 10,000 passengers and 250 aircrafts on a monthly basis. “We currently have direct connectivity to eight different cities, and we plan to add flights to more cities during 2022-23,” he asserted.

Helicopter services would be an efficient mode of travel, especially for the tourists, the Chief Minister said in 2022-23, these services will be made operational on new routes to Williamnagar, Dawki and Sohra.

It will be so convenient for us as a public and a Tourist to visit all the places in a short period of time. It will safe our money since we use to hire vehicle to and fro.
      Good news
Thanks to the Govt of Meghalaya for taking this initiative.
