  • “Will work tirelessly for Meghalaya’s farming community”, promises BJP on National Farmers Day

    BJP Meghalaya Kisan Morcha has recently commemorated National Farmer’s Day 2023 with a program at Liarkhla village under Umroi Constituency in Ri-Bhoi district. 

    During the program, workshops were successfully conducted on, ‘Orientations on National Mushroom’s Day’, ‘Integrated Pest Management’ and ‘Promotions of IPM on Rice & Vegetable Crops in Tribal Region of Meghalaya’, and other topics. 

    The farmers were given details about various agrarian friendly schemes of the BJP led Central Govt., schemes that are particularly beneficial for Meghalaya’s agricultural community. 

    The methods and benefits of modern farming practices were also discussed with the gathering.

    Different kinds of vegetable seeds and organic bio-pesticides were distributed amongst numerous farmers of the area, with the underlying message of discarding chemicals and moving back to natural methods with a view to creating a healthier state and nation. 

    The program was held under the supervision of state BJP Kisan Morcha President Ralden Bryan Shabong, state BJP Kisan Morcha Vice President Shri Duruth Majaw, along with Ri-Bhoi District President of BJP Kisan Morcha Sen Thabah, Ri-Bhoi District Secretary of BJP Kisan Morcha Shri Freddie Kurbah and Ri-Bhoi Mandal President of BJP Kisan Morcha Remius Kharsati.  Meghalaya BJP Vice President Khrawboklang Basaiawmoit and BJP National Council Member David Kharsati also graced the occasion. State BJP General Secretary Evarist Myrsing was the Chief Guest during the occasion. 

    Alongside, the event was attended by the I/c-Dean of CAU, Agriculture Scientists and several farmers from the Eastern Ri-bhoi region.
