West Jaintia Hills woman receives IFEA Award 2025

Lambhadaka Patlong of Khliehiongriang, West Jaintia Hills, has been honoured with the Iconic Felicitation of Exemplary Achievements (IFEA) Award 2025 for her contributions to sports and community service.
The award was presented at the Global Excellence Summit co-branded by Aimlay on July 5 at The Grand, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
The Association for Awareness of Applied Research (AAAR) selected 35 awardees from over 900 nominees worldwide for their exemplary achievements. Patlong also received an Honorary Doctorate during the event, recognising her efforts in grassroots sports promotion and her commitment to social development.
A national-level kickboxer, referee, and trainer, Patlong has represented Meghalaya in several state, regional, and national competitions. She won a silver medal in her first state-level kickboxing championship and later clinched gold at the Northeast Games. She holds the distinction of being Meghalaya’s first woman to earn a National Black Belt in kickboxing under WAKO India and serves as a national referee for tournaments across India.
Beyond sports, she works extensively to empower rural communities. She conducts self-defense workshops for girls in remote villages, helps spread legal awareness as a member of the District Legal Services Authority, and led relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing essential supplies and health kits to affected families.
